Как научиться видеть штампы в своих текстах

Не секрет, что моя статья буквально взорвала интернет. Еще вчера я, никому не известный редактор, уже сегодня добился необычайных высот — смог объяснить людям, почему нельзя использовать штампы в своих текстах.

Смотрите, как я сейчас использовал штамп в квадрате: привел самые банальные примеры из статей о штампах, что само по себе оказалось штампом. Из-за угла выглянул Кристофер Нолан.

Так вот странно, если вы до сих пор не знаете, что такое штампы, но скажу: это когда интересные фразы из-за частого употребления теряют всякую пользу. Как в случае с образом «взорванного интернета» или «высотами». Их уже скучно читать, скучно писать, а читатель при виде такого безобразия чувствует особую форму испанского стыда за того, кто пишет такие заметки.

Как выглядят штампы

Избитые палкой в темном переулке фразы бывают в рекламе, в газетах, в литературе, даже внутри корпораций и госорганов есть свои обороты. Когда в свежей статье появляется что-то, что много раз уже было в других местах, случается ужас: к тексту падает интерес.

Вот что писатель и редактор Уильям Зинсер в книге «Как писать хорошо» говорит об авторе типичной журналистской заметки:

Но беда здесь не только в логических несуразицах; в первую очередь на читателя нагоняет тоску упорное нежелание автора подыскивать нестандартные замены самым затертым штампам. «Вышиб дверь плечом», «нарвался на пулю», «сражался в одиночку», «повальная коррупция», «растревоженное осиное гнездо» — эти унылые сочетания складываются в самую что ни на есть банальную писанину. Мы сразу понимаем, чего тут можно ожидать. Впереди не будет никаких сюрпризов — ни редкого слова, ни свежего взгляда. Это обычная журналистская халтура. Мы распознаем ее мгновенно — и бросаем читать.

Еще один вид штампов в текстах — это канцелярит. Когда в тексты для обычных людей приходят сложные обороты из официальных документов. Так могут говорить чиновники, но это не значит, что этот язык будут понимать люди.

Много говорить о канцелярите не буду, вы и сами его встречаете часто. Лучше посмотрите, как можно превратить стандартное объявление от госорганов в понятное. Внутри как раз пример.

Как бороться со штампами в текстах

Если посмотреть мои тексты года три назад, можно разбить ладонью лоб. В них было все: повторы, штампы, канцелярит, обороты из книжек и журналов, ПЕРЛЫ ИЗ ШКОЛЬНЫХ СОЧИНЕНИЙ, О ДА. Фишка в том, что я не знаю, как именно начинающему копирайтеру или редактору, натренировать способность замечать в текстах плохое. Упражнений нет. Есть три совета, которые помогают лично мне.

Не публиковать сразу, а смотреть на текст через день-два. Или хотя бы через пару часов, если нет времени. Высочайший уровень — дать посмотреть редактору.

Тренировать насмотренность. Читать хорошую художку и бизнес-литературу. А лучше — пользоваться сервисами с хорошими текстами, читать статьи в хороших источниках.

Отучить себя «думать над словами». Если во время написания у меня возникает мысль «а как бы получше это выразить», сразу это пресекаю. Лучше подобрать самое простое слово, какое только может быть. Во многих случаях штамп можно убрать совсем, переделав предложение без него, либо заменить на простой аналог.

Мне на разбор стали присылать тексты. Взял из одного из таких примеры, чтобы показать вам, чем можно заменять штампы на ходу, когда нет времени.

Если хочется все-таки добиться художественности текста, показаться читателю «небанальным», то нужно учиться подыскивать нестандартные замены. Это труднее, чем использовать уже готовые шаблоны.

Марина Степнова, преподаватель Creative Writing School, пишет о превращении штампа в образ на примере стихов Пастернака:

Надо взять штамп, если он вам зачем-то нужен, и вернуть его к состоянию первоначального образа, из которого штамп и появился. Вот как Пастернак превратил до невозможности затертый штамп «косые лучи солнца» в великолепный, яркий и запоминающийся образ:

Как обещало, не обманывая,
Проникло солнце утром рано
Косою полосой шафрановою
От занавеси до дивана.

Со штампами в своих текстах нужно делать что-то только в начале. С практикой приходит умение избегать большинства классических вариантов. Это не означает, что опытные писатели и журналисты пишут идеально: даже филолог и литератор со стажем могут сдать ужасный текст: особенно, если этот текст сделан на заказ. На моем небольшом опыте поиска авторов, я понял: чем больший стаж работы пишет человек в отклике на вакансию, тем больше шансов увидеть ад и кошмар в настоящей работе.

Пишите, следите за собой и помните: даже свежие мемы, которые вы увидели в интернете пару дней назад, могут уже завтра стать в ваших текстах отвратительными штампами. В общем, нельзя просто так взять, и начать писать без штампов.
